Food, pharma, and high-hygiene applications. SS304 is a standard material specification in food processing, pharmaceutical, and similar industries where material hygiene standards apply. Aluminium is generally not acceptable in these environments.
Compatibility with stainless steel systems. If the inspection window fitting itself is stainless steel, using an SS304 insert eliminates the galvanic couple that would exist with an aluminium flange. Like-for-like metal contact avoids galvanic corrosion entirely.
